Carrie Thompson
FOUNDER AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Carrie Thompson is the mom of 4 amazing children and the wife of an awesome husband for almost 30 years. She loves hiking, the beach and going on outdoor adventures with her family. After fostering and adopting, she became passionate about supporting families who foster and the children in their care. She strives to bring awareness about foster care everywhere she goes.

Melinda Graham
PROVISIONS PROGRAM MANAGER
Melinda Graham has been involved with Family Room since its inception including serving as a founding board member and frequent volunteer before joining the staff in May 2022. Melinda is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), having graduated with a Master’s of Science in Counseling from UNCG in 2015. She joined Family Solutions, a local practice, as a counselor in 2016, specializing in play therapy. Melinda's favorite part of both her jobs is helping families and children live safe, happy, healthy lives together. Outside of work, Melinda loves to read, be outdoors, spend time with family and friends, and is active in her church.

Amelia Brady
DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Amelia is a wife and mom of two boys. She and her family are currently a licensed foster family. She has multiple years of experience in non-profit development experience. This experience, as well as being a foster parent herself, made her realize the urgent need and importance of resources and the overpopulated foster care system.
Her previous work experience includes recruiting, HR assisting for a special needs provider, and network marketing. In her free time, she participates in church activities, hikes NC trails, visits local wineries and camps, and enjoys the great outdoors!
Amelia is passionate about encouraging others to share their life stories, where healing, growth, and change can occur and building connections in her community. She is excited to help cultivate the hearts of others to make an impact in foster families who have said yes to stepping into caring for children in foster care.

Anjanette Carden
CLIENT SERVICES MANAGER
Anjanette holds a BS in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences with a concentration in social work and psychology. Her professional background includes over 10 years of office management experience and 8 years as a substitute teacher in elementary schools. Her love for administrative organization and serving others makes her an incredible addition to our team. Outside of Family Room, Anjanette enjoys spending time with her husband and children. She is an active member of King's Cross Church, where she continues to live out her calling to serve others.

Emma Skinner
SUPPORT STAFF
Emma began as a college intern at Family Room in the summer of 2020 and has worn many different hats over the years since. She studied Human Services and Family Studies at East Tennessee State University and has a deep passion for working with families. She is a homeschool teacher in the mornings, a nanny in the afternoons, a runner on her lunch break and a puzzler at night.

Maci Feather
SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST
Maci Feather stays home with her two littles and has been with her high school sweetheart for 9 years. Maci got her Bachelor’s in Social Work and has always had a passion about helping children in care, but especially after her family growing up adopted two children internationally. Maci enjoys spending her free time being with her family, reading and being outdoors. She absolutely loves being apart of the Family Room and watching it grow.
