Family Room has compiled a list of resources that are free, discounted and or Medicaid/SNAP/WIC eligible. View below statewide resources as well as resources for specific counties throughout North Carolina

Guilford and Forsyth County

Barnabas is Guilford County's only furniture bank. They collect more than 8,000 pieces of donated furniture each year and they give them, at no cost, to individuals and families on the path to self-sufficiency.They recycle furniture and restore lives. 

BCDI-G’s Bridge After School program operates 2:30-6:00 pm daily during the academic school year. The child has to be in grades K-5 and from specific Title 1, charter, and private schools in Guilford County.

BackPack Beginnings’ mission is to connect children and their families to resources needed to thrive.  By ensuring food and basic necessities are given directly to children in need, they make a positive and lasting impact on their health and well-being

Beyond Sports provides sports equipment, opportunities to play and resources to Title 1 Schools in Guilford and Forsyth County in NC. Free Sports equipment, view website to see qualifications.

Statewide/United States

Cover registration fee for children that are 4-18 years of age, and currently enrolled in SNAP, Medicaid, WIC, or Foster Care system.

Two discounted car seats per qualifying family. This coalition implements evidence-based programs, such as car-seat checkups, safety workshops and sports clinics, that help parents and caregivers prevent childhood injuries.

Families using WIC, EBT, or SNAP benefit cards receive a discount on admission by showing their card and a valid ID to a front desk associate.

Discounted offered are for EBT, Military, and Groups. $5 ticket with EBT.

Monthly free books for children ages newborn to five

Free admission for anyone to attend games. (Except basketball)

Camille's Closet and Theo's Threads is dedicated to collecting new and gently worn prom wear, shoes and accessories to provide them free of charge to middle and high school students who would otherwise be unable to afford them.  No registration required, for middle and high school students.
